WatchTower The Weekly Watch: Chris Pratt- Homeless to Hero, #ChrisPratt, #GuardiansOfTheGalaxy

This week’s Weekly Watch we are featuring Chris Pratt. He has sprung into the mainstream thanks to his Portrayal of Star Lord in The Guardians of the Galaxy and he also recently did the voice of Emmet, the main character, from the LEGO movie. These are two very popular movies among kids and Chris used his Star power for good!

Let’s just start by saying he was living out of his van in Maui and waiting tables to get enough money to just get by and I think his roots in Minnesota and living essentially homeless has kept him grounded and not let the stardom get to his head.

Mr. Pratt recently has visited two different children’s hospital to give sick kids something to smile about and relieve their pain, if only temporarily.

Here he is visiting a kid that is referred to as the Lego Kid due to his love of the building toy. Chris made the appearance for the studio who produced the LEGO movie but he said he wanted to make kids dreams come true. He is so far living up to that promise. He was quoted as saying recently

“I stole the jacket and some of the wardrobe so that, if this movie comes out and does what everyone hopes it can, I can follow the example of someone — say, like, a Russell Wilson, you know — and go visit kids,” Pratt explained. “If it was a big enough movie, to where it would mean something to a kid who’s sick in the hospital — for Peter Quill or Star-Lord to come visit them — I’ll do that. I think that’s awesome, man. That would give me real meaning for this movie, you know?”

Well he did just that last week.

Chris visited the LA Children’s Hospital and handed toys, signed autographs for the kids, and he even let the kids try on his Raveger costume. I can only imagine how much of cool Dude this guy really is.

As you can see, not only did he become a comic book hero; he went from being homeless to being a real genuine hero!

Cheers to you Star Lord!
